TREX

TREX - The carriers' soft switch

The telecommunication system TREX is a carrier grade soft switch based on the Asterisk standard. This solution is directed towards telecommunication providers independently of the used communication network. Using TREX, our customers can expand their existing product portfolio with modern services such as internet-based voice and video communication.

TREX Funktionalität

The connection to the classical telephony network is realised using active Audiocodes-voice cards and a driver for active telephony cards, the so called Intelligent Network Switch Interface (INSI). The TREX is especially cost-effective at capacities between 8 E1 and 128 E1.

TREX - the asterisk based soft switch as a carriers' product

  • based on AudioCodes voice cards and 42com's IN/SI channel driver
  • highest TDM port density on the market - upto 40 x E1 per chassis - 1200 parallel ISDN  phone calls
  • clear cost advantage compared to solutions with classical ISDN cards from ca. 8 x E1
  • SS7 / SIGTRAN support (on request)
  • easy training curve because of open source architecture
  • interoperable with media gateways of leading suppliers

For the very first time, 42com's open source IN/SI channel driver allows the combination of the flexible asterisk architecture with Audiocode's best of breed hardware. Asterisk, a soft switch concept based on open source, has become practically the industry standard in VOIP. The TREX product line now stands for highly fail-proof telecommunication applications with exchange capacities upto 16,000 parallel ISDN channels.

Carrier Grade

With the SS7 and Sigtran protocol support, TREX 1200 / 2016 soft switches can be integrated seamlessly into the existing network environment of the supplier.

Flexible

Our customers can profit from the broad spectrum of available, ready-made solutions and the easy expandability of the asterisk architecture.

Secure

The components used for TREX are certified for professional use and comply with the highest requirements to telecommuication equipment.

TREX - optimised for call centre applications from ca. 100 agents

Queue Engine

Even in the basic configuration, TREX counts with complex ACD functions. The agents register with a short bait call in one or several queues which are set up in the TREX. This works, whether they are connected via ISDN, proprietary system technology or VoIP. Priorities can be allocated.

When a group is used to full capacity, the agents of another, less busy group will be allocated. So that the agent knows which group was called, he is first told the name of the campaign or product when he takes the call. Now the agent can use his right name and process the call without further questions. Addditionally, the name of the campaign can be displayed on the handset. Several statistical functions allow a comprehensive reporting. Graphical tools to dynamical administration of agents and queues are optional.

Synoptic panel

TREX is optimised to show a synoptic panel in front of an existing PBX or standalone. In times of heavy traffic, it holds the callers in the line for a time that can be defined. So he capacity of the call centre can be overbooked by the factor 2-3 without losing qualität of service.

IVR

Complex IVR-trees and mailbox systems can be realised easily on the TREX according to the custiomer's wishes. So, automated dialogues with the caller are possible, even raffles, automated information desks systems and audiotext systems.

Scope of delivery

  • LINUX APPLIANCE SERVER
  • AUDIO CODES TDM ADAPTER
  • Asterisk Installation plus AudioCodes channel driver

Every TREX server will be checked and tested under full load at 42com.

Your advantage
